Privacy Policy

TripWallet respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. By using TripWallet, you agree to this policy.

Account information: your email address and name (when you sign in with email, Apple, or Google).

Trip and financial data: destinations, dates, budgets, expenses, income, and currency preferences that you enter or that are imported from email (e.g. booking confirmations you forward to TripWallet).

Documents and photos: receipts, tickets, and other files you upload or capture with your camera.

Location: your approximate location when you choose to search for nearby businesses (only while the app is in use, and only with your permission).

Technical data: device type, app version, and usage logs for security and troubleshooting.

We use your information to: provide the service (trip planning, expense tracking, shared trip management, alerts you requested), improve the product, keep your account secure, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

When you choose to forward booking confirmations to TripWallet, upload files, photograph receipts, or import travel-related documents, TripWallet may analyze that content to identify the booking type and extract relevant trip details such as flights, hotels, dates, passengers, amounts, currencies, and reservation numbers.

For this purpose, automated systems, OCR, and AI-assisted processing may be used, including cloud providers or AI providers acting on our behalf. Processing is limited to content you choose to forward, upload, or import, and does not include general scanning of your email inbox.

Extracted information is used only to provide TripWallet features, such as itinerary creation, document organization, expense tracking, and booking review before confirmation. We do not use imported emails or documents for advertising or third-party marketing.

We use trusted third-party services to operate TripWallet: authentication providers (Firebase/Google, Apple), cloud hosting, optical character recognition, document processing, and AI-assisted processing providers. These services process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your data is stored in encrypted databases with access controls, regular backups, and secure transport (HTTPS/TLS). Authentication is handled through industry-standard providers.

No system is 100% secure. Please keep your password and device protected.

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account from the app, we will mark the account for deletion and remove associated personal data, including trips, documents, email imports, OCR/AI extraction data, push tokens, and shared-access links, within 30 days.

Certain transactional, billing, security, fraud-prevention, or audit records may be retained for a limited period where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to protect the service.

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. You can export your data from the app settings, or delete your account entirely.

TripWallet is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be available in the app and on our website. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
